Kate Townsend

Kate Townsend, wife of Dave passed away from a heart attack on 9th October 2023. She bought much joy and life to all who knew her. She will be sadly missed. At the Singing Gallery she entertained, did the sound mixing, welcomed everyone at the door and supported all of Dave's crazy projects. The Singing Gallery is no more.

Kate and I needed a new venue and my son Woody suggested we should build something in our garden at Clarendon. Around that time, I think 2019 Kate and I sang at Jean Thomas's funeral. In the past Jean would come for singing lessons and her favourite song was the Drovers Dream. Kate took Jean to many hospital appointments before she passed away. She ask us to sing at her funeral and wanted you guessed it the Drovers Dream. Sometime after this we received two cheques in the mail. Thank you Jean. We could have gone on a world trip but instead Kate, with the help of Jerry and Ben Keyte designed a most beautiful music venue which has become the Singing Gazebo. Kate loved it and put so much time and effort looking after it and making guests welcome. I hope I can keep it up !! Jean and Kate's photo hang together in the gazebo.
